BRSC Play It Forward
Play for the Title. Win for the Cause.
At the Bolton Recreational Sports Club, we believe that sports bring us together on the court and floor, but community is why we play.
BRSC Play It Forward is our way of turning friendly competition and championship energy into real-world impact. Starting this season, our Championship games aren’t just about the Championship glory — they’re an opportunity to give back to causes that matter to our players.
How It Works
[ 1. Drive to the Finals ] ──► [ 2. Select Your Cause ] ──► [ 3. Play for the Win ]
Reach the Championship Game Finalists pick a CRA charity Champions direct BRSC donation
- Earn Your Spot: Push your team through the regular season and playoffs to reach the Championship Final.
- Nominate a Cause: Before game day, both finalist teams select a registered Canadian charity or cause they are passionate about.
- Play for the Win: The team that wins the Championship game secures a direct donation from BRSC to their designated charity in their team’s honor!
👥 Optional: Double the Impact!
Want to make the victory even sweeter?
While BRSC covers the primary championship donation, winning teams are welcome (but never required) to match or add to the contribution! Whether your team chooses to pool together a bit extra or pitch in as a group, it’s a completely optional way to multiply your team’s support for the cause you chose.
Organization Guidelines & Eligibility
To keep the program transparent, accountable, and aligned with our values as an Ontario non-profit organization, nominated causes must meet the following general guidelines:
- Registered Charities: Selected organizations must be a Registered Charity in good standing with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). You can easily check if your chosen organization qualifies by using the CRA Charity Search Tool.
- Local Focus Preferred: While national charities are accepted, we strongly encourage teams to choose local causes, community initiatives, or regional chapters serving Bolton, Caledon, and the Peel Region.
- Pre-Game Submission: Team captains must submit their chosen charity (along with a backup selection) to BRSC administration prior to Championship day so we can verify eligibility.
- Exclusions & Religious Initiatives Policy:
-
-
Donations cannot be directed toward private individuals, personal crowd-funding campaigns (e.g., GoFundMe), political organizations/candidates, or commercial for-profit entities.
-
Faith-Based & Religious Organizations: Funds cannot be used for the sole purpose of proselytizing, religious instruction, or sectarian worship. However, faith-based organizations and community centers are eligible if the donation directly supports open, non-sectarian community programming (such as youth STEM/literacy initiatives, educational scholarships, local meal programs, or camp supplies accessible to all community members).

Why We Play
When your team steps onto the court or floor for the final game of the season, you’re playing for more than a title. You’re playing for local food banks, youth programs, animal rescues, health research, and community care systems.
